2017 Mural Project
Catch the Wave of Hope AT&T Mural located in downtown Stuart was designed and painted by lead artist Lynne Barletta. 80 students of VSOA ages 5 and up each painted a fish with teachers Alicia Jones, Christopher Carnes, Madisyn Derita, Mike Nolan, Danielle Keller and Andi Harness. Local artists Geoffrey Smith with his daughter Caroline painted the alligator and Brenda Leigh painted the large dolphin. The community of Martin County came together with City and County Commissioners, business leaders, organizations and many individuals who sponsored fish and gave to Catch the Wave of Hope to abolish human trafficking. The mural is a lasting landmark of our river and is on the city art walk as a global destination.
